Blueberries could help to burn body fat while exercising
Science keeps discovering new benefits of berries consumption. On January 2023, the research “Effects of Wild Blueberries on Fat Oxidation Rates in Aerobically Trained Males” was published. This research affirms that blueberry consumption could help to burn body fat while exercising. This fact would imply two benefits. In addition to avoiding overweight, it would increase physical performance while exercising.
Eleven men participated on the research. For two weeks, every day they ate 25 grams of blueberries and did cycling at medium intensity for 40 minutes. The researchers realised that blueberry consumption had increased fat oxidation, so the amount of fat turned into energy was higher.
